Ahh the new year!

So I guess a lot has happened since the beginning of december. Nothing too new on the job hunt front. I'm still waiting to hear from a company I interviewed with back in december though. They had a hiring freeze but according to the recruiter I was working with wanted to bring me in as a contractor after the new year. The latest I've heard is that they wanted to know if I was still interested and availiable. That was earlier this week so hopefully next week, I'll hear some positive news. Aside from that, some other friends have agreed to pass my resume around to folks in their companies, and so far that seems to be the way to get a jump in the job process, so here's hoping things open up for me.

I went to vegas a couple times last month as well. One of my friends got comped for a couple nites at Wynn and that was a lot of fun. I got comped 3 nites at Mirage including 150 bucks of freeplay, not too shabby. Unfortunately I was supposed to head up to LA on xmas eve but got a flat out in Temecula, so I missed a super duper xmas eve dinner in Poshadena....doh! I did spend some time with family after new years so that was good.

So I've been relaxing and vacationing and a little bit of shopping towards the end of the year, and I think I'm finally ready to get back into the swing of things. I'm finally summonsing the energy to look at the job boards and see if i need to brush up on some skills. Hopefully things will start happening in the next few weeks or so. I'm talkin to my lil network as well, so with my brains and confidence something ought to come out of it.

Oh and now that I have medical insurance, which with a private plan for me is waaaay cheaper than Cobra, I got my ear fixed thanks to antibiotics and I'm back on the path. Perhaps more on yoga in another post =)
