Putting the randomness in the RGBY

Iconic no? Big Ben! My first trip overseas and yet of everything I saw: Heathrow, the Underground, buses, taxis, Look Left, ridiculously old architecture and english accents, nothing quite stirred up that "whoa I'm in london" moment than the moment Big Ben revealed itself as the Big Red tour bus turned the corner. It took me back to first grade. Big Ben was always to me the icon of London, it was what I drew knowing nothing else. I'm amazed when moments grab me like that. It really doesn't seem to happen that often anymore. Makes me wonder if I will have those moments if i go to Australia or Asia or even Paris. No doubt only one way to find out.

3 weeks into ambien withdrawl after over 2 years of the stuff on and off. Sleep anxiety hasn't so much crept in as burst head on into my life. I guess this is supposed to be the chance to confront whatever really keeps me from sleeping. As usual, I retain my skepticism until proven otherwise.

I am back into my tennis now though. As the woman who strings my racquets put it...it was less of a break from the sport than the people. How true of so many "breaks" one needs. And looks like I get to be more involved in GLBT employee activities at work. This should be interesting. It'll at least add a layer to work that should make it more interesting. As always, time will tell.
